Professional Memberships and Organizations
Legal Marketing Association (LMA)Alison is an active member of LMA, a professional organization dedicated to serving those involved in marketing within the legal profession. She was a member of the board of directors for the Southeastern Chapter of LMA (LMASE) from 2005-2007, and in 2008, she served as the chapter administrator; this was a non-board position responsible for the daily operations of this chapter that has grown to encompass 10 states and 15 cities, providing networking and professional development programming for its more than 475 members.
Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)PRSA is the world's largest organization for public relations professionals. The Society has nearly 32,000 professional and student members and is organized into more than 100 Chapters nationwide. Alison is a member of the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA|GA), where she actively participates in the Independent Counselors Special Interest Group.
Atlanta Women’s Foundation Women on Board™ ProgramThe Atlanta Women’s Foundation (AWF) engages and educates women as leaders through its Women on Board™ (WOB) program. Created in 2000, the program was designed to increase the number of women on nonprofit boards in Metro Atlanta by providing effective board governance training to Atlanta women and by acting as an advocate and intermediary between program participants and registered nonprofit organizations. Alison was fortunate to receive training through the WOB workshops.
Community Involvement
Eating Disorders Information Network (EDIN)Alison chairs the marketing and public relations committee for Atlanta nonprofit organization EDIN, the Eating Disorders Information Network. This volunteer committee is tasked with raising awareness and helping EDIN fulfill its mission of “preventing eating disorders through education, outreach and action.” Learn more about EDIN at www.MyEDIN.org.
